Prestwich Golf Club Hilton Lane Prestwich Manchester M25 9XB Tel: (0161) 773 1404
Prestwich Golf Club stands on the outskirts of Manchester City Centre and is easily accessible from anywhere in the North West of England being close to the M60 Manchester orbital motorway.
The original golf course was established in the late 1800's by the Manchester Gymkhana Club, an exclusive club which provided a range of sporting activities for its members, including golf, lawn tennis and bowling.
The Course was extended to 18 holes in 1905 and officially opened on the 16th April 1906. A card from that date indicates that the course measured 4448 yards and was rated as par 72. As golf grew in popularity the Manchester Gymkhana Club evolved into Prestwich Golf Club which was formerly instituted in March 1908.
There has been substantial development of the course over the years and although comparatively short by modern standards this beautiful parkland course offers natural hazards and undulation providing a challenge to golfers of all levels. From the seventh and twelfth fairways you will discover panoramic views over the Manchester and Salford skyline and on a clear day Jodrell Bank, Runcorn and the hills of North Wales are visible.
Prestwich Golf Club prides itself on the reputation it has developed. The friendliness of members and staff guarantees a warm welcome to new members, societies and visitors . Membership rates for 2009 have been reduced for several membership categories and the remainder have been frozen at 2008 rates. Full membership is just £595 with reduced rates for Senior Golfers.
Our enthusiastic PGA Professional, Mark Pearson offers personal tuition, has a well stocked shop offering the leading brands at competitive prices and a golf club repair service.
