Club Captain - Phil Carter

2009 Captain - Phil Carter

I am very proud and honoured to be Captain of Prestwich Golf Club for 2009.

I joined the club some 30 years ago and have been an active member of the Golf Committee for several years.

It is my intention to maintain the traditions of the club for the members who are extremely proud of the friendly atmosphere we extend to visitors and of the condition of our golf course and greens.

I wish all members an enjoyable and successful season and hope to welcome visitors to the Club whether you are interested in membership, society golf or as a green fee player you can be assured of a warm welcome

Captains Charity

The Captain has indicated that his year’s charity will be “Cash for Kids” which raises money to support disadvantaged children across Greater Manchester to lead a better life.  The two bunkers guarding the 8th Green have been nominated “Captains Charity Bunkers” and members or visitors who are unfortunate enough to visit these bunkers are invited to donate 50p to the Captains Charity. Simply write your name (and contact details if you are a visitor) on a charity envelope which can be found in the bar or the Pro’s shop, and you will be entered in a monthly draw for a bottle of wine.

Captain / Professional Challenge.

The weekly challenge has been restored with the winners paying for the after-match refreshments and of course an invitation to donate to the Captains Charity. Contact the Professional for more details.
