Become a member of Prestwich Golf Club in the Centenary Year and from 1st April and benefit from pro-rata* rates for the remainder of the year (1st April 2008 - 31st Dec 2008) The most commonly asked questions about membership at Prestwich Golf Club.

Yes. The Joining fee is £450 but at the moment we are waiving the Joining Fee to new members. This is a genuine offer and any member taking advantage of this offer will not be asked to pay the fee at a later date.
 

The rates for 2008 are:

Full Male £605 - From 1st April £505 or 10 payments of £52.90**

Full Female £510 - From 1st April £425 or 10 payments of £45**

Family Membership (no children) £1060 - From 1st April £883 or 10 payments of £90.80**

5 Day £415 - From 1st April £346 or 10 payments of £37.10**

Junior From £46 (upto 10 years old) up to £135 (under 18) From 1st April £38 - £112 (easy payment scheme not available for junior rates)

We are celebrating our Centenary in 2008.  The course has been established and developed at the same location since then but we had a new Clubhouse built in 1991. This provides the advantages of an established course with strong club traditions combined with modern Club House facilities
 

It is an 18 Hole Parkland Course constructed over a hilly terrain and although it is comparatively short, by modern standards it provides a challenge for Golfers of all levels;- at the same time a round of golf takes only 3 ½ hours compared with 4-5 hours on longer courses
 

We are proud of our Golf Course and encourage prospective members to play the course and see for themselves what a challenge it presents.  To encourage this we offer a round of golf at a reduced green fee (£10 per person)
 
The Golfing calendar provides for competitions every weekend and we also run midweek competitions throughout the summer. We are proud of our achievements in open competitions throughout the county and have strong teams at all levels.
 
The club benefits from the services of a fully qualified P.G.A. Professional with fully equipped shop and coaching facilities.
 

Yes, in common with most golf clubs we maintain a strict dress code, however this is regularly updated to reflect changing fashions and golf apparel. The dress code for the clubhouse is smart casual with jackets and ties optional unless we are holding a special function when you would be advised of the dress code. The Dress Code for the golf course is smart in keeping with most golf clubs in the area. Smart golfing apparel: - No jeans, trainers, tee shirts etc.
 

We provide a full social calendar, with organised functions ranging from full formal dinner dances to barbecues and quiz nights. We provide excellent catering facilities. We encourage members to take advantage of all of the facilities provide by the club.
 

The drinks in the clubhouse are priced within a range you would expect in private clubs, however we operate a “Bar Discount Scheme” which allows members to purchase drinks at a 15% discount from our advertised rates.
The traditional process of sponsorship from existing members is still the preferred option, however it is appreciated how difficult it can be to obtain first time membership or gain sponsorship if you have recently moved to the area. We are pleased to consider applications, which do not benefit from traditional member sponsorship but require ID in the form of Driving Licence, Passport together with a current utility bill.
 

Traditionally, the process of application and membership election processes within Golf Club’s has been protracted. We have streamlined the process and attempt to approve membership within two weeks of receiving an application.
 

Once accepted as a member we operate a mentoring system that will ensure that you integrate into Golf Club Life providing links with members who partner you until you are established and ensure you gain maximum benefit from club membership.
