OVERVIEW
The NEW 2020 Course.
Prestwich Golf Club, established in 1908, has traditionally been a parkland course set over a hilly terrain bordering Kersal Moor, the site of the Original Manchester Golf Club, the second oldest golf club constructed in England.
It is situated just over 3 miles from the City Centre and very close to the M60radial motorway junctions.
The new course, opened 2020, has benefited from over £800,000 of investment and extends onto the moorland providing a unique and exciting blend of parkland meets moorland.
Designed by international Golf Architect, Paul Thomas it cleverly retains, but enhances the best of the old course and as added some exciting new holes to create a modern fast playing course, which although still short by modern standards, is a pleasure to play whilst presenting a challenge to golfers of all levels.
We have introduced four brand new holes and remodelled six of the existing holes.
If you have played the course in the past you will find that we have listened to our members and visitors with the newly designed course retaining all the features you enjoyed from the original course but eliminating the elements we were once criticised for, such as blind shots and cross overs.
You will find the new course an absolute delight to play and of course it is matched by Prestwich Golf Club’s unique friendly atmosphere.
